EOTC Week

This tern we had being doing fun stuff it is called EOTC week that mean education outside the classroom.
These are the thing that we did. We did surfing it was really fun and it was on Thursday  8th. On Friday 9th  we went Adrenalin Forest it hard I was trying to challenge myself but i couldn't and Adrenalin Forest is like you climbing and climbing up latter On Monday 12th  we was going to do sailing but we didn't because it was raining. On Tuesday 13th we went to mega air and did top team that is like doing challenges that you get wet something . Mega air is like a jumping places and you could on box and my favorite places was Mega air and Top team.

This week I have been doing a Powtoon. It's like a goggle slide. I had to do a reflection about my highlights  at Hornby Primary. Inside the slide I have picked this photo about the stuff we did and I wrote a little text about what we were doing. Here is some photos when we went to visit the city. I hope you like it.

Short Tailed Bat side

In reading I have been doing something about short tailed bats and we had a reading book about it.
I had to do another slide about what I know. I wrote some questions what I know? Then I made another slide about what I think I know? Then I made another slide about what I'd like to find out? I will ask you a question. How many years do they live for? Then I made a slide about what I now know about short tailed bats and one of the facts I found was that short tailed bats are good at eating leaves and insects. I hope you like my slide.

Dear Future Me

Dear future Me,

By the time you read this many years will have passed.  In fact you will be turning 25 years old.  This is a little reminder of what your goals, dreams and aspirations were as an 11 year old.

I hope that you kept working hard and being friendly to everyone so that you could get a job serving drink to people. In a flash bar. I hope that you have a stylish uniform and meet famous people at your bar.

The Lie

This term for writing we had to make a story about the lie and the truth. We had to write about people saying lies about us and we had to do the truth about the lie. I hope you comment on it.

Ordering Fractions DLO

This week We had to do a DLO about Ordering fractions with the same denominator. The bigger the numerator, the bigger the fraction as the denominator stays the same. I hope you learn something different about my video and please comment.

Earthquake DLO

I had woke up from the earthquake and it was on Monday 14th November at 12:00 pm a loud noise and the wall was shaking I woke up feel something rattling. I was tried to woke up my sister but she was fast asleep I went into my mum room she said what happen I said there is a earthquake she was like OMG!. when the earthquake was shaking my house I went into a curled.  Then mum woke up everyone and then someone knocked on the door and it was my aunts and cousins because there house shaking really badly. I feel tried about the earthquake and almost something landed on my head.

How to a turtle if you do have a table next to you.

When there is a earthquake if there is a table next to you go under it and if there is not a table next to you go into a Turtle  

The earthquake is in Christchurch and my house was shaking. Good thing I was safe in the house with my parents and my sister and no one was hurt. 

You should also have a survival kit.  You should always have a parent or caregiver with you.

I feel safe at school with my friend and teacher. I feel really sad because my Annuity could almost die.

it was really scare for me because it wasn't stop shaking and rattling I hope the earthquake stop.

Making Healthy Food

This term for topic we have make some healthy food like fruit smoothie, salad, Zucchini Parmesan Chips , Hawaiian chicken Kebabs,All of the writing group had a part to make something and when we started eating it was good. In my group there was Samilce, Alexis, Addyson, Blessing, and Janell  I tried the fruit smoothie i didn't like it but when tried something else it really yummy. i have show you 3 photo at you know what we was cooking about.

Healthy and Nutrition

This term in topic we have been learning about Healthy Nutrition. This week we have been learning about food. There are some different vegetables and fruit. We were given empty food packets and looked at the sugar and other ingredients on it. We had to write down how much sugar is in each food. We had to say if it was healthy or not.  

Day at mega air-fist draft

During the holidays on Sunday I went to mega air with mum, Chelsea, Michaela, Emma and my Aunty. We went to mega air because we were bored at home because we didn’t want to stay at home. Me and Chelsea first went on it and then Michaela and Emma went on it. I had food at mega air it was KFC.

We stay at mega air for 1 hour and I fell over and I got a big bruise on my leg. Mum and aunty got to get some clothes for Emma because she wet them.  Me and Chelsea went to the dairy and we brought a drink and lollies and ice cream.

When me and Chelsea got back from the dairy we went home and ate our lollies.

When I got home I said “wow this day is the best” and Chelsea said wow I love this day with my family then Michaela wow wow this is the best best day ever. I want to go back there again and I had a fun time with my family and I hope I could have a nice day with my family again.

I feel happy going there because it was my first time going there and next time I am going to take my friends with me so I am not bored at home again.

Film Festival

For Topic this term we made movies. First we had to pick the group. I had 4 people in my group. We had decided that we wanted to do time lapse because we thought that it was cool. We were working on this for 8-9 weeks. My group decided that we could do 2 time lapse videos and we did candle melting and ice melting. We made a plan about what we are going to do. We were going to do banana rotting and beans growing but that could take a long time so we did ice melting and candle melting. In my group is Genica, Kea, Lyan. We started doing our story board and we thought about what we could do and thought about what we have to do when we record. It was challenging for all of the hard work my group. I hope you like it.

For topic we had to make a movie with imovie. We had to pick little group like 4-5. My group is doing time lapse and our tittle is the heat of the lce because our time lapse movie was about candle melting and lce cube melting.The people in my group is Genica, Lyan, Kea and me.

It was hard to pick an idea.  I feel happy because we have almost  finished our movie. I hope you like my writing about my group. 

suffixes video

For reading my group charming cheetahs we had to make a video about suffixes and I have done 

a side and made all of the table about suffixes. I have done all of the suffixes that I know

first I have a table full of some that mean like helpful because it was a ful on the end and that called a suffixes. The next table I have not-the opposite of that mean less and on the end of the words it has less some like careless. The next table of like how it is done that mean ness like fitness. The last table describe being darkness because it describe.   

        

Sports morning

                                                  

In the morning we played sports to celebrate spring for the first day.

We had to sort the game and we had to sort the teams out too.

Then we had tennis and basketball and dodge ball and volleyball and netball. We had teams of 6-7 people.

For (basketball) we had two teams at different sides of the hoop and we had to get it in at different stages. For (tennis) it was just like regular tennis.

My Favorite game was basketball.

My Tivaevae

W.A.L.T find out information about Tivaevae and how to make them.

For reading, my group was reading a book called A quilt for Aunty Nga. The story was about mum and Kiri making a Tivaevae. A Tivaevae is a quilt that is special to Cook Islanders. They went to Rarotonga to see their whauna and to give Aunty Nga her gift - the Tivaevae. My group made our own Tivaevae. We had to make it out of paper but some people make it out of material. I had to design my Tivaevae. I chose two colours that go together and then picked another colour. My first step was to cut paper and make a pattern. My second step was to get any kind of paper and put it on the Tivaevae. My third step was to make a little picture for the design on the tivaevae. I cut some wavy lines out of green paper. That's how you make a tivaevae out of paper. I hope that you like this Tivaevae. It was kind of hard and then it got easier because I was trying my hardest.

For maths I had to do a maths video for what my maths group is learning. It took me a while to learn how to solve this maths strategy but I kept going over and over it till I got it. I know how to solve the question now so I will show you in my video here. I hope you enjoy my video and I hope that you learn something.

For maths we have been learning to multiply numbers. I have have been working on my 10x tables. This is some of my work. I am trying my best to complete it. First I have done the small number and then I have to do the bigger number so I will explain what I have done. So I know that 2x3=6. Then you just put the 0 onto the 2 to make it 20 and then you have to put the 0 onto the 6 to make it 60. So this is what you do when you multiply by 10. 

My 5 Timetable

  For maths we had to do a mindmup with my 5x times table on it. Some of them that I have to work on and I almost achieve it. I am trying to compete my 5x timetable. The stage that i am working on is Stage 5 part 1 and I am trying my best.

It was a beautiful sunny day in December in Africa. I was going to the waterhole with my family. It was really early morning. I could see a group of lions lying in the sun getting ready to pounce on the herd. I know that I am going to be attacked and I know that I am weak,so I tried to keep close to my father. The lions came and bit me and my mother came so they can protect me. But mum went away because mum thought that I was ok, but I wasn’t. So I got bitten by the lions and scratched, until his teeth got loose.

When I got caught it was like BAM I could feel the wind blowing on my face like a butterfly.

I can see the lion's eyes flashing. It looked like they had worms coming out, like they were going to chase me. Suddenly I went into the water. The three lions are pulling me then I felt the crocodile trying to pulling me too. The daddy buffalo was trying to pull me but the lion was pulling me too but it feel like they were pulling me apart. The lions won the tug of war and the lions pulled me out onto the bank. The daddy buffalo almost got me so he kept trying to get me and the daddy buffalo did get me.

I feel so happy that I am back with my nice family.

My worst walking ever

It was a beautiful sunny day I was going to the waterhole with my family.

It was a really really early morning I could see a group of lions lying in the sun  getting ready to pounce on the herd.  I  know that I am going to be attacked  But i know that I am weak! I tried to keep close to my mother.

As I was walking along  the river bank I saw the lions, I said OMG I can see a group of lions.The lions at  looking at the buffaloes.The buffaloes were running because the lions were trying to get  me .The lions are getting to choose to get me and the lions did got  me . When I got caught it was like BAM!!! ,  I could feel the wind blowing on the face and with butterfly. The lions was like OMG because i can see there eyes flashing and worms at my eyes like they were going to eat me. The buffalo went into a group then the crocodile and the lions was playing tug war . The daddy buffalo was tried to rescued me .

So now finally got out the enormous tug war and I now I’m finally tree.
