MY FIRST REPORT!

PANDA

Kia ora

My name is Keyana and I will be doing a writing report about Pandas, so I will be writing about what they eat and how long they can live for. I will also be talking about what they love to eat and where they live and what giant pandas do, also how can pandas make baby.

What they eat and how they long they can live for:

Pandas need to eat bamboo, stem and leaves because if they don’t they will not be healthy and they will possibly die, pandas could climb up trees too. Guess what pandas can live for 20 year that is so long to be alive and also their height is 60-90cm and mostly all of the pandas are up to their mum and dad shoulders.

What they love to eat and where they and what giant pandas do:

Pandas love to eat bamboo and also pandas must eat 12-38 kg everyday to meet their energy needs, pandas live in China and that is a long way and also they live in wet bamboo forest and that then that the bamboo is wet and they eat it.

How pandas make a baby:

The new born babies pandas are tiny, blind and pink. . For 2 months after birth, babies  only feed on milk, and they sleep and poo. I think that when giant pandas are born, they are tiny, blind, and pink, with few hairs.

Conclusion:

Now you know pandas eat bamboo and they could live for 20 years, also 2 months after birth babies only feed on milk and they sleep and poo.

The End of Swimming!!!

Last week I did a blog post about swimming, I said that we only had swimming for 2 weeks . This is the last day for swimming. Today we are doing water safety to keep us safe. In my last blog post I was writing about swimming and I had my next step in the blog post, my next step was to get faster at freestyle and I have passed that and now my next step is to let my arm move more. I really think I was really good at swimming and I feel like I was amazed because I did really good. I have video and photo to show you I hope you like it.

Swimming at Cranberry Swim School

It is term 4, we went swimming for two weeks. We have 1 more week to go. Day 1 we got changed into are togs and then we had some food because you don't want to have an empty stomach and then we had a play.  When the bell rung we started to line up to go on the bus, when we got to the swimming pool and we had to take a shoes off. Then we had to go into the changing room to get and get changed, next we had to go into our swimming groups and I was with all girls. My next step is to get faster at freestyle. I also want to gain confidence in my ability because my teachers think I am pretty jolly awesome!!

Netiquette are the rules of behavior that apply when communicating online. The word Netiquette comes from the the words net and etiquette. 

Etiquette are the rules of behavior considered to be good manners. We are learning about netiquette when emailing. I have make a mind mup of the do's and don't's I haven't finished it yet but I will post the complete mind mup. 

How dose netiquette affect our relationship? Being positives like If you open the door for someone that is being polite and you could have a good relationship with someone. If you say someone work is dumb that is not being positive because that will mean that you won't have a good relationship.

Hello I have made a other writing about clouds. I have really work really hard on this writing, I think I could do better, but I try my best. Here is a link to the video called party's clouds and I hope you enjoy my writing.

The sky looked very pink and fluffy it almost looked like candy floss. It looked like a candy land that you could eat. The city looked amazing, It was light and colorful. I was so captivated that I couldn't stop taking pictures.

Hello I’m a girl and my name is Pom Pom, I'm a cloud and I have magic powers that I could make anything like pets, toys and babies. I feel magical because I can do anything with my powers.

When I make pets, toys and babies, some smart friendly bird comes and takes them away and gives them to the people that need them. Every time you look at a cloud like me it’s looks like you're up in the air and like your in a high rise.

I have made a duckling, cats, and puppy, I just use the cloud and my magic powers to made those pets. I have lots and lots of fun of making pets.

The other day the storm came it was pouring with Hailing rain. I was super grey I didn’t want to look at the other clouds, but if I did my magic powers will start to faint away. I couldn’t stop it but I was trying my hardest to stop it.

I had my head covering because I was waiting until the ganit rain stop.

2 days after it stopped I very happy because the last time it rain it took 10 days to stopped and you should never ever get the rain cloud angry again. I’m really happy because it stopped. It  turned out  to be a good day for the rain cloud and all of the friendly clouds too.

Using my own startegy

      This week I have been doing this strategy that I figure out. I have two videos to show you, one is a blooper and the other video is the really good one. W.A.L.T use addition and subtraction to work out fractions of a set. I ended up using a different strategy that was at a higher stage. I figured this out on my own. I hope you like my two videos.

Dear diary

Today is Saturday, I went into a dark gray tank that I couldn’t breathe in. I had to wear this face mask so it could protect my breathing.

I stood up to go to my beautiful sleep out to see my brother and I showed him a music tape that I found on the shadow floor outside. My brother wanted to listen to the music tape, but I said “No!” Then I put the music tape on the top shelf.

I said to my brother that you have to go to bed, but he said “In a minute”, then I said “Ok” then “See you in a minute but DON'T TOUCH THE MUSIC TAPE!” He said “Ok”.

Next I went out and went to bed for a beauty sleep, but my brother was taking a long time to come back to bed and I started to think that he went somewhere and took the music tape.

I went to the sleep-out to see if he was there, but he hasn’t there, so I had to sprint really fast to see if my brother was at the park…

I saw my brother. He was lying down and he didn’t have the face mask on but suddenly he was DEEEEAD!!  I was really sad I couldn’t believe it, but I need to get over it .

MAKING SLIMEEEEE!!!!!!

We are making slime today because we fulled up our marbles jar, we had pick to do slime,

We are making Fluffy slime. In my group is Lyan, Mikayla and Nature they are all helping me. I am exited to make slime today. This afternoon before we make slime we had to decide which recipe we are doing so we got planning. I hope you like it.

The ingredients is 

- Borax in hot water 

- Food coloring (purple)

- 1 cup of glue 

-half of a cup of shoving cream 

-foaming hand wash 

-cornstarch

Extravaganza

This term the whole school has been working on doing a performance to show to all our family and whanau. I am in 'Outlook for Thursday' and I have to hold a cloud with a bright yellow rain jacket and I have to get a rain hat. I had 5 people's in my group and there names are Michaela, Sharney, Melana, Bianca, Khalaynie I have other people in my group and they have to wear beach clothes and they lie on the towel.  We are focusing on New Zealand Music Month for this term. I was painting the cloud for my group, I have put four coats of white paint on the cloud and it took ages and after that we had to put two layers of gray on. I had a good time by doing this I hope you like my video of this song and some photo.

I sat at my shiny black piano reflecting about my beautiful, talented, caring wife. The music was penetrating my fingers and danced across the keyboard.  

When I heard about wife, I was not happy I couldn’t stop crying and my heart was beating super fast. I started to play the song, It felt like my wife was playing the shiny black piano with me. This beat of the piano was really sad which reminded me of WW1. That day my wife passed away and it also reminded me of back in 1950s.

I really wish my beautiful wife was alive with me, but now she is in heaven I have to get over myself but I could still have sad moments. At this point I just wanted my wife to come back.

I know that was my grandson David when you was 7 I give he a present and it was a horse sick. When I was his age I loved ride and playing with horse sick. At least I still have him, he is know at the age of 13. I am really great I still loved him.  

All about me

Today we have been doing fun Cyber Smart things that we can do it with Chromebook.

 I picked drawing and how to blow your teachers socks off, you have do a really good blog post and put lots of detail in it. I used Canva it was my first time and I had fun doing it. I know how to use it so I could possible do it for my next DLO. W.A.L.T make a quality a to blow your teachers socks off blog post. I you like it  

Number of the Stars, Novel Relenting

Dominique, Zayd and I have made a slideshow about an important part of the novel called " Number of the Stars". We have work really hard on this slideshow and we really hope that you like this slideshow for this week. I think I could have done better. Zayd and Dominique have helped me a lots on this. We are the guardians of Somalia!

For week 4, We have looked at this Video and we picked  a character to be, I picked a robot but first you should watch the video first. Here is a link to it Somalia

It has been about a week in this rusty, messy, smelly old boat. I am Liam and I am a brave robot. The crew on this boat takes me and my robot friends everywhere. We are their guardians of Somalia.

My robot friends can save people and that makes me a hero. I heard yelling inside the rusty boat and it sounded like someone was fighting. I looked and there were pirates trying to take over the boat. I have a job to do, I hope they will learn their lesson.

I let my crew free to save the captain and fight the bad pirates. All of my robot friends help me by throwing the pirates overboard. We had to let more robots free and they thanked us. Once again we save the captain and take down the bad pirates.

Buster the Boxer

For the past week I have been working on a story at is called Buster the Boxer, he is a dog that loves trampoline and in the story I was Buster the Boxer. We had a video to watch about Buster the Boxer and write as if we were him.

Hello I am Buster the Boxer, It was Christmas eve ,It was snowing outside, Inside there were some decorations on the tree it had Christmas string, colorful plastic people and a star on the top of the tree and I think it looked pretty awesome. Emma was jumping on the beautiful big bed …

Suddenly Emma’s mother came in and said it is past your bedtime, so Emma said “ok I will go to bed bye mum love and good night”. Emma’s father was making a beautiful big trampoline for christmas, But he had hurt his finger and I said “oh no” in my head.

I went into the lounge and went to the window. There were other animals on the trampoline jumping and they look like they are having fun, I started to get jealous and then I started to get sad… But one of the animals said something.

The badger said “Hello” all of the animas let's jump around.

“Ok”

“Yay”

“Ahaha”   

“ This is the best trampoline “

I went back to Emma’s room and waited, it was christmas morning. I ran outside with Emma. I sprinted as fast as I could to go on the trampoline and  I jumped really high. Emma started to look little angry and then she looked like she was happy. Emma face was surprised and her parents were too.

This week I have made group and Kea, Lyan, Mikayla help me to find a book. We had to find a book that has a poem. We have found a poem that is called NO SUN. My group have been working on this really hard but we try are best. I hope you like this Video.

My Amazing Island with Moai

 Term 2 I have been working on Easter Island.  Lyan, Joshua and Travis helped me to do this Island.

We worked really hard on this mystery and look what we made.

For two weeks we learnt about the mystery and getting some information down and after we researched we made a DLO about the  information. We have been putting some moai down, but we couldn't do anymore because we didn't have time and there are more moai on Easter Island. There are  887. 

This is my last post for this term but in term 3 I will be doing lots more blog post. I have you like my Island.

Coolest mystery called Easter Island

This term I have been doing a mystery and it is called Easter Island.  Lyan and I did a stop motion DLO Video about how the statues move and they have a name that is called Moai. They have full bodies like a human but they are not a human because they are made out of rock. I hope you like it.

Timeline about Easter Island

 I am learning to summarise and retell the main ideas and important information from what I have read in my own words.

For the passed two weeks  we have been learning about mystery. My group was focusing on Easter Island, If you don't know what is Easter Island is,well Easter Island is a Island with Moais statues. The other name for Easter Island is Rapa Nui. My next step is to learn more about Easter Island. It was so challenging to know what Easter Island is about. Module 1: Kawa of Care and the Digital Immersion Learning Environment

This is an introductory course split into two parts.

Part One in this session covers all the physical features of the Chromebook. It also covers important aspects of The Kawa of Care and ways to practically apply the values of this document in the home.

Part Two is a basic introduction in accessing children’s work from relevant sites. In this session, parents will be shown a classroom site, a classroom blog and then a child's individual blog.

From here parents will be shown the difference between all three, how each site or/and blog may be relevant for different times and how to effectively use them as a means to engage with children’s learning, to to stay informed.

This session will be on Thursday 25 May at 3:30pm, 5:30pm and 7:30pm.

Module 2: Cybersmart Values

Module 2 training is for confident users of Chromebooks or parent s who attended Module 1 in Term 1, split into two parts.

In Part Two, parents will learn practical Cybersmart values to apply in the home. Parents will also learn specific skills e.g screenshots, safe browsing, checking history of devices and other helpful skills for the home.

Parents also have the opportunity to learn more about Google products such as docs and gmail (Optional). Offline apps will also be covered, to show parents how to operate machines for learning if there is no access to wireless.

This will be hosted at St Bernadette's school

We had year 5 girls and year 5 boys were doing the Samoa sasa and the year 6 girls and year 4 girls were doing the Ti Rakau sticks. The year 6 boys and the year 4 boys were doing the super Haka,

My Survival Kit

This week I have been reading this book called survival in the wild.

We had to make a DLO about the story and there were three things to do and Mikayla and I picked the survival kit, we had to get all of the stuff to put inside it. I hope you comment and I hope you like this.

Success Criteria

• I use an opening statement that explains the subject of the report.

• The opening statement is followed by sentences that describe the event; what you saw, what you did, how you felt, what you learnt.
• Each paragraph focuses on a different aspect of the topic; travelling, the beach, the lagoon walk, playground.
• A general statement about the topic usually rounds off the report

Last Friday Ako Ngatahi, Ruma Toru, Ruma Wha and Wahi Ako  went to Spencer park, We went on the bus to Spencer park and some people went inside a car. I was excited to go to Spencer park and the sky was blue and it didn’t have clouds.

There were 150 people went Spencer park.  First we explore around the beach and pick up some shell and wood for a art. My legs were sore but it was still fun. We had something to eat on the beach and I was in group 4 with an adult and two teachers .

For the Lagoon walk it was fun to look at different bird we haven’t seen. My group saw a Tui it sound really different than a ordinary bird. I felt like I had the best day with 150 people coming to Spencer park.

Then we went to the playground and played for 5 minutes. I had some yummy lunch and it was chips, a sandwich, biscuits, a bar and I had milk in my lunch box.  It was fun at the playground and I was playing with Shontae, Mikayla, Talia. I played on the flying foxes and the climbing bored.

I learnt that a Tui sounds different than an ordinary bird and the bird is black and white and the beak black.  I felt so tried on the bus at end of the day. I thought about all of the beautiful birds I have seen.

My seashells handle Beach art

This term our class, Room 3, Wahi Ako and Room 10 we went to Spencer Park. We went to Spencer Park because the teachers were discussing what we could do for our art. Our teaches told us information about what we are doing. We were in groups and I was in group 4. 

 I have some photo to show you what I did for a my beach art.

The sculpture is called " The seashells handle" I named it because when I first started I got all of the treasure and I stated to pick a name and I added so string to it. I put some seashells to make it better and make it interesting too. . I wanted to name my sculpture because the seaweed looks like a handle and I hope you like my seashells handle beach art.

Subtract ones and tens

For maths I have been learning subtract ones and tens. When I first started it was hard then my teacher Mr Scott took the group at I was in. Then I started to understand it and then it got easy. I hope you enjoy my video and I will make a another video some time Bye.

Subtract in parts.

This week in the Squares, I have be learning about Subtracting in parts. I just want to tell you that PK means prior knowledge. Tidy numbers are 10, 20, 30 and so on. Subtracting from tens is, for example, 10-3=7. Partitioning means breaking numbers into two parts, for example, 9=5+4. I hope you like my video.

The Present

The Present

One sunny day  I woke up and went to brush my teeth and have a shower. I was playing my favorite video game. Suddenly my mum walked in the door and she said “I have a present for you.”

I keep playing my video game then I started thinking about it  then I open it. It was a puppy. The puppy was yellow and had a black nose.

Then the puppy barked.  I threw it on the ground because he was annoying me and the puppy got me so  frustrated . I said get lost then the puppy came back and did a sad face and I said “Go away” and I  went to play my video game again.

The puppy saw a red ball and the puppy try to get it. Then he give it back to me I threw it away and it went inside his box and the puppy ran. The puppy was going around and hitting stuff.

Then the puppy give the ball back to me and I was thinking about it. So I told my mum I was going out with my puppy and playing with the red ball outside. I feel dumb then I was thinking about it If I should have the puppy so I play with the puppy all day.

The puppy was like to me because I have one leg and he has one arm. I started to like the puppy because he is cute dump silly and funny I love my puppy now I will never ever be mean to my puppy again. I learnt to never judge someone to how they look.

I feel so disappointed that I was being mean to my puppy that my mum give to me. I should be so grateful to have a puppy the end.
